It’s Finally Spring – Enjoy a Gluten-Free Treat!

Making Toasted Marshmallow Peeps

Did you know that you can roast Peeps just like you would a regular marshmallow?  Only when you roast a Peep, the sugar crystallizes into a sweet shell of delightful crunch.

Toasted Peeps

And they are “naturally” gluten-free.

Mmm, what a terrific idea! I just put a Peep in my coffee with soymilk this morning and heated it in the microwave for about 30 seconds, and that was pretty tasty, too.

Never thought of burning them :) …. I still have a box left…

So, I think this is a fantastic idea, but I just thought I’d give the warning to be really careful with hot melty sugar. I know that it’s common sense, but I still managed to give myself a nasty second degree burn on the end if my pointer finger. I feel pretty stupid right now :(

Oh Peeps, so very versatile :) I posted a link on my other site (ediblecrafts.craftgossip.com). Love this!

I just bought a pack earlier this week for the kids to roast on a camping trip and make peep smores. They cannot wait to roast their bunnies and chicks!

I would have never thought of that either. I want to go camping and try it.
